[ This message is sent the evening of the 7th, late into the morning. ]
Hello, this is Captain Holiday. I hope you can forgive my tardiness in getting in contact with you, things have not been as smooth as we usually like to keep them the past week -- I'm sure you've noticed -- and it's set things back a bit here at the base.
As one of the training exercise winners, the first of your prizes is a supervised visitation with the Porter machine. You may not come accompanied and each of you will take your visit one at a time so as not to overcrowd the room, but all winners will be granted two hours to examine the machine and ask our scientists questions. You may schedule to take your two hours at any point in the upcoming week.
Further details on the second prize are upcoming within the next few weeks.
Thank you,
Cpt. Parc Holiday Liaison to ImPort/Government Affairs Division of United States Department of Defense
[ NOTE: A log will be posted on Thursday to accommodate this visit! You are also welcome to handwave this and simply respond to us with what your character would do so that we might provide answers. ]
[OOC: I won't be able to tag into the log since I'm on hiatus due to an irl emergency that is still being dealt with. As for questions, Flame Princess would ask how the porter decides who to bring here (like if it's random or it plans to bring in each person for a certain reason), if anything will change if they are returned home, and if staying here would be an option once they win the fight against The Big Bad.]
( OOC: Perfectly okay! I understand the necessity of your hiatus. As for her questions: 1) At the moment there is no noticeable pattern as to how the Porter selects who to bring in, although it seems to favor bringing in more people from universes where imPorts have already been brought in from; 2) Based on all recorded experience, when an imPort returns home they are brought back to the moment they left from, therefore no time seems to have passed since they've been gone. However, if they return to this universe, time does pass between their disappearance and reappearance; 3) They can make no promises yet, but they are working on developing methods to stay or return home at will. )
