[ This message is sent the evening of the 7th, late into the morning. ]
Hello, this is Captain Holiday. I hope you can forgive my tardiness in getting in contact with you, things have not been as smooth as we usually like to keep them the past week -- I'm sure you've noticed -- and it's set things back a bit here at the base.
As one of the training exercise winners, the first of your prizes is a supervised visitation with the Porter machine. You may not come accompanied and each of you will take your visit one at a time so as not to overcrowd the room, but all winners will be granted two hours to examine the machine and ask our scientists questions. You may schedule to take your two hours at any point in the upcoming week.
Further details on the second prize are upcoming within the next few weeks.
Thank you,
Cpt. Parc Holiday Liaison to ImPort/Government Affairs Division of United States Department of Defense
[ NOTE: A log will be posted on Thursday to accommodate this visit! You are also welcome to handwave this and simply respond to us with what your character would do so that we might provide answers. ]
[OOC: I won't be able to tag into the log since I'm on hiatus due to an irl emergency that is still being dealt with. As for questions, Flame Princess would ask how the porter decides who to bring here (like if it's random or it plans to bring in each person for a certain reason), if anything will change if they are returned home, and if staying here would be an option once they win the fight against The Big Bad.]
( OOC: Perfectly okay! I understand the necessity of your hiatus. As for her questions: 1) At the moment there is no noticeable pattern as to how the Porter selects who to bring in, although it seems to favor bringing in more people from universes where imPorts have already been brought in from; 2) Based on all recorded experience, when an imPort returns home they are brought back to the moment they left from, therefore no time seems to have passed since they've been gone. However, if they return to this universe, time does pass between their disappearance and reappearance; 3) They can make no promises yet, but they are working on developing methods to stay or return home at will. )
[That was an unexpected message. But nice! Nobody's really invited her to dinner or anything like that since she arrived. She turns on the video to respond, smiling (and also... well, burning) brightly.]
Our agreed upon meeting is now scheduled for the 18th of January, 3:30pm, at Heropa #13. In the event you are unable to attend, please let me know and we can agree upon another time more accommodating of your own schedule.
He- [Clears his throat, his voice was a little gruff there for a moment.]
Hello Phoebe- [A pause.] It is-
Ira. [Right he- doesn't need to even say his full name now, let alone his title...]
Thank you for the gift, I apologize for being so busy lately, but we will make time! It was enjoyable seeing you during the commotion after the Swear In. But some personal time together is in order!
Hi, Ira. [Her voice is fond. It's always nice to hear him speak. And she's probably the only person who thinks that.] It was nice seeing you, too, even if the situation wasn't that great. [... yeah.]
But I'd like that! It'll be nice to spend some time together without having to worry about other stuff.
-I, apologize, I imagine that sort of scenario, is was difficult for you. [All that fire, it hurting people, people putting it out... he understands now that as a fire elemental- it must have been hard on her.]
Of course, Phoebe. As soon as I have time to dedicate to you, I will contact you. There is much going on and I would prefer not to have a busy mind.
Do you have any idea of what you would like to do?
[ Hello, friend. On this beautiful spring day of April the 1st, you will either return to your desk at work or return to the front door of your residence to find a singular red rose in a simple vase, complete with ribbon and mysterious card.
Of course, seeing as this is Flame Princess we're talking about, Kasumi takes some extra effort on the prank; the rose isn't actually a rose, but a wax rose with a wick on top, so that if she gets close to it, it gets lit and burns like a rose-scented candle.
(By the way, the card reads, "I had a different prank in mind, but it wouldn't have worked on you. So here, have a wax flower. Sorry it's not a rose from your boyfriend. - K" ]
[Oh. Well. This is a little awkward. The song is pretty enough, but it's... fairly obvious that it's about someone that Flame Princess isn't particularly fond of.]
this is kanaya maryam we spoke some time ago about wardrobe options i do apologize for the delay as its taken some time to develop the materials necessary to move further with the project but as that has been achieved i thought we should discuss the next steps acquiring measurements discussing designs and such your timely response will be appreciated
[ Christmas delivery! At some point in the morning, FP will find a small package containing these hot chocolate stirrers on her porch. There's also a note signed from Sasha that says "You can also eat them plain! They're very good, trust me."
... yeah, she might have eaten one she was supposed to give. ]
